Over 100 years serving Long Islanders and Casco Bay. The Long Island Store has been an integral part of the Long Island Community for over 100 years. At one time it was the main source of groceries and fuel for "year round" and summer residents. Today it is a seasonal business from mid June to late September, providing a variety of sandwiches, pizza, cold drinks, convenience groceries, gasoline, and some gift items, such as t-shirts, hats, and sweatshirts. It is staffed mostly with young, seasonal residents; providing, for many, their first job, spending money, and some college savings. Ice cream and cold drinks are a welcome part of a warm summer day for many who like to hang out for a bit and socialize. Lorinda, Gail, Anna, Will, Eliza are all hard working members of the Team of Equals that make a trip to the store a fun part of most every summer day. Winter Gasoline Hours: Wednesday: 5 to 7 pm. She also is the Fedex lady, Valet Val, Pet Sitting Queen, Pizza Diva, everyones best friend, and the one who gets your mail to the boat. She can arrange to have your septic tank pumped.
